Call for Submissions for new Statements of Strategy 2011-2013 for Government Departments / Offices

Under the provisions of the Public Service Management Act, 1997, all Government Departments and certain Scheduled Offices are currently preparing their Statements of Strategy for the period 2011-2013.  Statements of Strategy set out the high level goals and objectives of Departments/Offices, as well as the strategies to be used to achieve them.  The Statements also provide information on how each organisation will monitor progress in achieving its goals by identifying measurable outputs, outcomes and performance indicators.

The following is the list of Government Departments and Scheduled Offices engaged in this process:

Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food;
Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources;
Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs;
Department of Defence and Defence Forces;
Department of Education & Skills;

Further information on the work of each Department / Office and on their current Statements of Strategy can be found on their respective websites (click on the name of each Department/Office above to gain access to their website).

To assist Departments/Offices in defining their strategic vision for the next three years, interested parties (e.g. customers, user groups, professional, trade and other organisations, private firms, service users, and individuals) are now invited to submit their views on the shape and content of these new Statements of Strategy (click here for a copy of the newspaper advertisement calling for submissions).  Some Departments/Offices may also contact key stakeholders directly with a view to encouraging the making of submissions.

Please note that should you wish to make submissions to a number of Departments / Offices, these will need to be made separately to the relevant address below.  All submissions are subject to the Freedom of Information legislation.
