  • Call for Submissions for new Statements of Strategy 2011-2013 for Government Departments / Offices

    To assist Departments/Offices in defining their strategic vision for the next three years, interested parties (e.g. customers, user groups, professional, trade and other organisations, private firms, service users, and individuals) are now invited to submit their views on the shape and content of these new Statements of Strategy. Some Departments/Offices may also contact key stakeholders directly with a view to encouraging the making of submissions.

  • New Guidelines for the preparation of Strategy Statements 2011-2013

    These Guidelines set out in broad outline the obligations imposed on Ministers and Secretaries General arising from the Public Service Management Act, 1997, and were prepared in order to inform, in particular, the process of preparing Statements of Strategy for the three-year period 2011 to 2013.

  • Taoiseach's address at the Public Service Excellence Awards Ceremony 8th July in St. Patrick's Hall, Dublin Castle

    I am delighted to be here this afternoon to present the fourth biennial Public Service Excellence Awards. These Awards were established by my predecessor in 2004, as a means of showcasing excellence in the Public Service.  In particular, the Awards recognise best practice in projects and initiatives that have enhanced the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of administration and delivery of public services.  I am delighted to be able to continue the Awards this year.

  • Taoiseach announces new Minister of State for Transforming Public Services

    On 23rd March, 2010, the Taoiseach, Mr. Brian Cowen, T.D., announced a series of Ministerial moves, including the establishment of Mr. Dara Calleary, T.D., as Minister of State at the Departments of the Taoiseach and Finance and Enterprise, Trade and Innovation with special responsibility for Public Service Transformation and Labour Affairs.

  • Government Statement on Public Service Agreement - 16th June, 2010

    The Government welcome the decision by the Public Services Committee of the ICTU to ratify the terms of the Croke Park Agreement. The Government believe that the terms of the Agreement provide a basis for stability and progress to the benefit of Public Servants and citizens alike.
