Programme Office
The Programme Office was established to support the implementationof the 'Transforming Public Services' programme. It is based in the Department of the Taoiseach. It supports the Government in driving, co-ordinating and monitoring progress on implementation of the 'Transforming Public Services' (TPS) programme. The Programme Office also supports organisations across both the Civil Service and the wider Public Service in their transformation efforts.
The Programme Office comprises staff of the Public Service Modernisation Division, Department of the Taoiseach, as well as officials seconded from each of the main sectors of the Public Service: Local Government; Health; Education; and Justice Sectors. In addition, officials have been seconded from Government Departments/Offices to work on the Organisational Review Programme (ORP), which was established to review the capabilities of all Government Departments and major Offices to deliver on their stated goals into the future.
The overall work of the Programme Office is supplemented by staff in other Departments, in particular the Department of Finance (www.finance.gov.ie), and the Sectoral Centres.
Sectoral Centres
Sectoral Centres have been established within the wider Public Service - the Local Government, Health, Education, Civil Service and Justice sectors. Their purpose is to support the change agenda at sectoral level. These Centres are actively involved in ensuring that the main messages of TPS are communicated throughout all sectors, and they will also be closely involved with the Central Programme Office in piloting transformation initiatives.
